This time Skype for Biz and OneDrive for Biz showed up. I uninstalled using the Fixit at the link you provided, rebooted, and then reinstalled Office 2016 from the O365 Software page. There are several reasons why you might want or need to uninstall Skype or Skype for Business.
This might have been less frustrating if the new installer actually asked what components of Office you would like to install and cancel if you desired. If you need to reinstall Skype or Skype for Business, go to the relevant web page for the version you want and download it, then follow the instructions to install. I then removed that and went back to Office 2013, which worked fine for me.Īfter MS worked out a bug in the O365 control panel (under Admin -> Service Settings -> Updates) and I was able to actually enable the 'First Release' option for myself I attempted to upgrade to Office 2016, but once again did NOT have Skype for Biz or In my case I had previously installed a version of Office 2016 preview that did NOT include Skype for Business or OneDrive for Business. To avoid this problem, use Microsoft's Office Removal Tool, found here.
One warning, Installation of Office 2016 often fails because of remnants of a previous version of Office.
You can install this version of Office 2016 by going here. Onedrive for Business and Skype for Business are installed as part of Office 2016 Preview (for Business).
